Christian Fittipaldi dominated much of the twelfth hour of the Rolex 24 at Daytona as the race reached the halfway point. Fittipaldi began stretching out a lead at the top of the hour before the ninth full-course caution brought the field down to a crawl for the #87 PC category car catching fire.
The lead batter in the PC category continued to be hotly contested between 8Star Motorsports and CORE autorsport, with the latter winning the hour on this occasion.
Meanwhile Porsche North America continued its dominance of GTLM and also held the lead in the GTD category ahead of the Ferraris of Level 5 Motorsports and Scuderia Corsa.
