All was calm as the Rolex 24 at Daytona passed the half way mark with Christian Fittipaldi and Tony Kanaan trading first place throughout the hour.
There were no incidents of note during the 2am-3am stretch with Jorg Bergmeister in the #912 and Patrick Pilet/Richard Lietz in the #911 line astern in the GTLM class although Oliver Gavin in the #4 Corvette and Maxime Martin in the #55 BMW kept the pressure on.
One car that didn’t have the rub of the green was the #3 Corvette which kept going behind the wall at intervals throughout the hour after suffering a massive water leak on pit lane.
In PC, Enzo Potolicchio and Jon Bennett were fighting hammer and tongs for first place with their ORECA FLM09s. 8Star had the upper hand as the 13th hour slipped by into the 14th hour.
In GT Daytona Level 5 Motorsports and Townsend Bell are keeping up their good form to carry on shutting out the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari as well as Rene Rast in the Paul Miller Racing Audi R8.
If you think Motor Racing Network’s commentary is as poor as we do, The Checkered Flag are live Tweeting the race on @tcfsportscars.
