Sutton Joins Formula Ford For Racing Return

1 Mins read

Ashley Sutton has been confirmed as Meridian Motorsport’s second driver in the 2014 Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain, joining Connor Mills at the Essex-based outfit.

For Sutton, the entry will mark his return to racing after two years out of the sport due to injuries suffered in a road car accident. The 19 year old made his single-seater debut in 2010 in Formula Vee, claiming three race wins on his way to the Rookie title.

The team confirmed at the Autosport International Show today (9 January) that they will run three EcoBoost Mygale’s this season, with the third driver to be announced soon.

“The car crash put me out for two seasons, and it has been a long recovery road,” said Sutton. “I’m really looking forward to getting back to racing, and I was very impressed with the car when I tested with Meridian – I was shocked by how much grip it had and how much power; I really, really enjoyed the car.”
