Sam Brabham will return to the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain this season with reigning champions JTR.
The third-generation racer was a consistent frontrunner in the single-seater championship last season, taking six outright podium finishes as he ended the year fourth overall and second in the Scholarship class.
After getting to grips with JTR’s EcoBoost Mygale once again during a test at Thruxton last week, the 19 year old heads into the 2014 season targeting the championship win.
“It feels really good to be back with JTR this season,” said Brabham. “We had a brilliant first year and together we achieved results I didn’t think would be possible in my rookie season. This year is going to be even better.
“I’ll have the benefit of starting the season from the first rounds and that’s going to help me get every championship point possible. The competition is going to be strong, so pre-season preparation and testing is going to be key, but I’ve no doubt that JTR will put together another winning package.”
Brabham is JTR’s second confirmed signing for the season, joining fellow series returnee Jayde Kruger at the 2012 and 2013 champions, with Max Marshall widely expected to be their third signing.
“We’re extremely pleased to be returning with Sam this year, not least because he is very likely to be a strong contender for JTR to go for our third successive championship title,” added JTR team principal Nick Tandy.
“Personally it means a lot because we can continue on from all the hard work Sam and our team put in together last season to progress with him from a single-seater rookie into a front runner.”
