Massot Returns To Lead JHR Title Defence

1 Mins read

Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup race-winner Pepe Massot will return to the championship for a title challenge this season with JHR Developments.

The Spaniard made his Supercup bow last season and in only his second year of car-racing, the 18 year old carded nine podium finishes, including two wins, en-route to fifth in the final championship standings.

Four of those podiums came in the final five races following a late switch to JHR, with Massot feeling they are the team that can take him to the title.

“There is no better feeling than to return to a place you are loved at, with people you believe in (JHR) and with the people that supports you (family),” said Massot.

“Having dealt with some very tough times in my personal life last year, I have learnt what I had to in and out of the track, and I feel prepared to give something I didn’t have last year, that I am sure will be enough.”

Massot is the second confirmed driver at JHR Developments for 2014, joining fellow second-year driver Carl Boardley at the Derbyshire-based outfit.

JHR were the leading team in the Supercup last season, guiding Tom Ingram to the drivers title, with race-wins from Rob Boston also helping secure JHR the teams title.

“We are thrilled to have Pepe back for 2014, he completes what is set to be a fierce line up for the JHR team and we hope he can help us retain the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Team Champions title for this year,” added JHR team principal Steve Hunter.

Pepe was on great form last season with multiple podiums and we are certain he will be a solid fixture on the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup podium in 2014.”
