5. Josh Webster
2014 is set to be a massive year for Josh Webster, who after spending his formative years in single-seater racing, is making the move into sportscar racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
The 19 year old embarked on the most important season of his career to date in 2013, the two-time Formula Renault BARC runner-up having made the big step up into GP3. It proved to be a mixed year for him, but it ended on a high when he won the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship and its £160,000 prize fund towards two seasons in the series.
It will be a steep learning curve for the Norfolk-based racer as he adapts to racing GT’s for the first time, but he will be aided by the fact all the teams and drivers need to learn the new-for-2014 991 car.
Webster is confident he can be challenging at the front over the course of the season, and will be exciting to watch as he aims to convert his single-seater promise into the start of a successful GT career.
