Beechdean’s Ross Wylie Joins Mark Webber for “Get Race Fit 2014”

Beechdean Racing’s Ross Wylie joined Mark Webber for the 2014 ‘Get Race Fit’ weekend at the Porsche Human Performance Centre last weekend (1st/2nd March) at Silverstone.

The 22-year-old from Thornhill, Scotland, joined a select group of young racing drivers for the third year in a row, with Webber putting the group through fitness exercises, seminars, Question and Answer sessions and other practical workshops.

Talking about the weekend, Wylie said: “I had a mega two days training. It was really cool to return back to the annual event and of course hang out with Mark [Webber]. The event is a good way to kick start the season. It’s great to measure your fitness levels against some of the other leading up and coming drivers.

“To be ‘race fit’ you need to be the all round athlete in terms of strength, cardio and flexibility, so it’s important to go to these events and learn sports specific exercises.”

Wylie will drive an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for Beechdean AMR in this year’s Avon Tyres British GT Championship, starting at Oulton Park in April.
