Anglo-Danish driver Emil Bernstorff has become the second driver to be announced by the Carlin team for the 2014 GP3 Series season. He joins Red Bull Junior driver Alex Lynn in the team.
Bernstorff finished third in the 2013 German Formula 3 championship, winning on six occasions, and is looking forward to moving up to GP3.
“Carlin are a team I’ve admired for many years and it’s great to be racing with them this season,” said Bernstorff to Autosport.
“I’m now looking forward to the official testing, which starts at the end of March. Until then, we’ll be working hard to make sure we’re well prepared for the first race.”
Team boss Trevor Carlin, whose team ran Alexander Sims to a win and Nick Yelloly to podiums in 2013, is delighted to be able to pair Bernstorff with Lynn for this season’s attack on the GP3 series.
“We’re excited to be working with Emil this season – he’s a talented young driver,” said Carlin. “Alongside Alex, we have a strong team in the making and we will be looking to challenge for the championship.
“Emil has already been to the factory and made a great impression on everyone here. We look forward to the rest of the season competing together.”
