Billy Monger has become the latest karting graduate to confirm plans to make his car-racing debut in the Ginetta Junior Championship this season.
The Surrey teenager has a hugely successful karting track record, having previously twice won the Super One British Championship, and the Henry Surtees Memorial Meeting and Buckmore Park Chairman’s Cup once, as well as finishing fifth in the World Series Karting European Masters Series.
Monger steps up from the KF Junior British Championship as a privateer outfit, with hopes to progress up the results sheets over the course of the season.
“I had such a fantastic time at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship and received great support and encouragement from Ginetta that my dad and I decided to have a go!” he enthused.
“We will be running the car ourselves this year, but as such an exciting series with many experienced teams and drivers around, I know I’ll be able to watch and learn this season. The Ginetta Juniors are amazing little cars, great fun and best of all very fast!”
