Bushell Awarded Pole After Track Limits Confusion

1 Mins read

Mike Bushell will start Round Six of the 2014 Courier Connections Renault UK Clio Cup from pole position today (4th May), after he was amongst a number of drivers who’s lap times were reinstated post-session after some track limits confusion at Thruxton.

A number of track limits penalties were applied during the qualifying session, primarily focused on the drivers’ use of the kerbs at the final chicane. Those penalties have since been rescinded though.

The move means Lee Pattison, who had originally earned pole position for both races, will now start race one from pole, and race two from second alongside Team Pyro team-mate Bushell.

The other changes see championship leader Alex Morgan now start race one from eighth rather than tenth, and his team-mates Ash Hand and Josh Cook switch places to fifth and sixth respectively for race two.

The revised starting grids are as follows:

Round Five: 1. Lee Pattison, 2. Mike Bushell, 3. James Colburn, 4. Rob Smith, 5. Devon Modell, 6. Ash Hand, 7. Josh Cook, 8. Alex Morgan, 9. Paul Rivett, 10. Ant Whorton-Eales, 11. Jordan Stilp

Round Six: 1. Mike Bushell, 2. Lee Pattison, 3. James Colburn, 4. Devon Modell, 5. Ash Hand, 6. Josh Cook, 7. Rob Smith, 8. Ant Whorton-Eales, 9. Paul Rivett, 10. Alex Morgan, 11. Jordan Stilp

Round Five kicks off the day’s action at 10.40 tomorrow, with Round Six televised live on ITV4 at 15.50.
