“I love this track and am very happy to be on the pole,” declared Junqueira. “When you have a fast car here it is a lot of fun and I am excited for the race. The team did a great job with the car, the balance was perfect for qualifying.”
In the sister RSR Racing car, Alex Tagliani will start fifth after setting a time of 1:20.568. The Canadian, and team mate Chris Cumming will hope that they are still well within a chance of scoring a podium.
“We were quite good in practice one and made some changes for qualifying that unfortunately didn’t improve the car,” said Tagliani. “We’re going back to our original set-up and should be in great shape for the race.”
