Mustang Celebrations Set For SpeedFest

1 Mins read

Brands Hatch’s American SpeedFest II will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original American muscle car – the Ford Mustang.

A timeline of Mustangs from almost every of the 50 years will be on display at the Kent circuit, giving fans the opportunity to see the evolution of the Mustang in one place. Out of the cars signed up to be displayed, only 7 years are not represented, with entries ranging from some of the earliest cars from 1964 right up to the latest models.

Forming part of the display will be some of the rarest Mustangs in the UK, including an extremely rare 1986 Fox-body Mustang, which will join the various models of the car from convertibles, Fastbacks and more.

The timeline has been compiled by the Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain and will form the centrepiece of the American car owners’ display, which is expecting over 1000 cars. The display was a highlight of the inaugural SpeedFest, with 4x4s, vans and Harley-Davidsons joining the muscle cars.

Alongside the road cars on display will be a collection of historic race machinery, including IndyCar and F5000 race winners and NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series cars, while cars from legendary Hollywood movies will once again make their presence felt.

The static displays will only form part of the entertainment for fans at SpeedFest, with live music, monster trucks, mountainboard ‘Big Air’ shows and plenty of on-track action, including the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
