Roda Rises to the Top in FP2 in Monza

1 Mins read

Italian Andrea Roda was fastest in second practice ahead of his home round of the Auto GP World Series at Monza. The Virtuosi UK driver, who made his Formula Renault 3.5 Series debut last weekend in Monaco for Comtec Racing, set a best lap time of 1:37.697s to beat series debutant Christof von Grunigen of Zele Racing by 0.153s. The Swiss driver was impressive on his first official day in car.

Kevin Giovesi was third for Eurotech Engineering, with the Italian just missing out on second by 0.023s. The two Euronova Racing entries of Yoshitaka Kuroda and series debutant Shinya Michimi were fourth and fifth, with this mornings pace setter Tamas Pal Kiss down in sixth in the second Zele entry.

Michela Cerruti and Francesco Dracone were seventh and eighth for Super Nova International, separated by 0.697s, with the top ten being rounded out by Michele La Rosa in the MLR71 by Euronova, and Loris Spinelli for Eurotech. Spinelli caused a red flag towards the end of the session when he spun.

Markus Pommer failed to set a lap time in the third Super Nova entry, his car not leaving the garage with apparent mechanical issues.
