Stefan Di Resta took his maiden victory in the Miltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup after holding off the advances of reigning champion Aaron Mason at Snetterton.
Di Resta follows in the footsteps of his brother Paul with tin-top success, and takes his first victory in the series after a gutsy drive around the Norfolk-circuit.
The JWB Motorsport driver got the better of early race leader Stewart Lines on lap three on the entry to Agostini, after the latter stormed away from the grid on the opening lap.
With Maximum Motorsport’s Lines declining as the race drew it’s length, it was up to Mason to try and carry on AWM Warranty Direct Racing’s run of being undefeated thus far in 2014, closing in on the escaping Di Resta in the latter stages of the race, whilst Lucas Orrock and Joe Fulbrook battled it out for the third and final podium spot in 3rd and 4th.
Further down the field, and Jack Walker-Tully led a max exodus of retirees, with Tim Snaylam, James Pile, Tom Barley, Simon Tomlinson, and Philip House joining the youngster on the sidelines.
Avoiding the sidelines though was Di Resta, who took his maiden victory in the series as the Scot led Nose-to-tail across the line to take the chequered flag.
