The GP2 Series stewards in Austria have issued both Rapax driver Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and Hilmer Motorsport driver Daniel Abt three-place grid-drop penalties after both were found guilty of gaining an advantage after leaving the track at turn eight.
Briton Quaife-Hobbs had qualified in fourteenth at the Red Bull Ring but will now start seventeenth; while German driver Abt will start the Feature race from a lowly twenty-second having originally struggled to nineteenth on the grid. He will start just in front of his team-mate Facu Regalia, who continues to struggle to get the best out of the GP2 car after finishing runner-up in the GP3 Series in 2013 to Daniil Kvyat.
Johnny Cecotto Jr will start the Feature race from pole position, which is set to start at 15:40 local time. Championship leader Jolyon Palmer will join the Venezuelan on the front row.
