Robertson Delighted With Double Oulton Win

1 Mins read

Charlie Robertson feels he and the HHC Motorsport team have found “a really good sweet spot” with their Ginetta G55 GT4 after carding a pair of Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup victories at Oulton Park.

Robertson was the class of the field over the Oulton weekend, converting his third consecutive Supercup pole position into his third and fourth wins of the season.

The former Ginetta Junior champion particularly impressed in race one after holding off a fierce challenge from Carl Breeze, the most experienced driver on the grid, for the duration of the race.

The two wins have moved Robertson to just four points off the championship lead, and the 17 year old feels the success is the reward for a lot of hard work from the HHC team since a difficult last meeting at Thruxton.

“We were working really hard testing in the break, and the team have done a brilliant job to get the car to where it is this weekend. We’ve found a really good sweet spot with the car, and to be on the pace we have been this weekend was really good. To get two wins is amazing,” Robertson told TCF.

“To have someone with the experience of Carl [Breeze] breathing down my neck most of the weekend was tough, but I showed in yesterday’s race that I had the bottle to hold my own at the front of the field with the most experienced drivers around me.”
