Team Ginetta Win HSF Brooklands Kart Challenge

1 Mins read

A team made up of Ginetta Junior Championship drivers past, present and future emerged victorious from the Henry Surtees Foundation Brooklands Team Challenge on Tuesday (July 1).

A stellar group of over 140 drivers came together in the 35 car field for the third annual kart event at Mercedes-Benz World, which raised an estimated £60,000 for the Henry Surtees Foundation and the Brooklands Museum.

Ginetta’s winning entry consisted of 2012 Ginetta Junior Champion Charlie Robertson, former Ginetta Scholarship winner Jamie Chadwick, reigning Winter Series champion James Kellett and future series racer Esmee Hawkey.

Hawkey: “Wow… how good does that feel! I knew we had a strong team but the quality of drivers we were up against was huge, so to win is a remarkable achievement for the four of us and LNT Ginetta. I would like to say a massive thank you to Ginetta for choosing me to represent them.”

Chadwick: “It was an amazing day, great to see so many people get together for such a worthy cause. And, of course, I was really proud to be part of the winning LNT Ginetta Team, it was a great team effort!”

Robertson: “It was fantastic to win the HSF Brooklands Team Karting Challenge and a real privilege to just be involved in such a great event. The main purpose was obviously to help raise as much money as possible, so to win the kart race with Team LNT Ginetta was the icing on the cake.”
