Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship driver Glynn Geddie has been charged with a drink driving offence in his home town of Aberdeen last month on 19 August, and has been suspended by United Autosports with immediate effect.
It is alleged the 24-year-old Aberdeen racer was found driving on Westhill Drive over the legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol in his blood on 19 August.
Geddie denies the charges and will face a pre-trial hearing in February 2015, pleading not guilty.
United Autosports have suspended Geddie with immediate effect from the current BTCC campaign pending the outcome of his trial, and are looking for a replacement driver to take the vacant seat in the second Toyota Avensis alongside James Cole for the meetings at Silverstone and Brands Hatch GP.
