Nurburgring VLN Outing For Century And Freke

1 Mins read

Front-running Ginetta GT4 Supercup outfit Century Motorsport are tackling the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife this weekend, with team principal Nathan Freke (pictured) teaming up with fellow former Supercup racer Colin White to take part in the final round of the 2014 VLN series.

For Freke, it will mark a rare appearance behind the wheel for the nine-time Supercup race-winner, who has tied in some Britcar race outings alongside his commitments running the team in the Supercup and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

Freke is no stranger to the Nordschleife, having previously competed in the 24 hour race around the circuit in 2012. His team-mate on that occasion was White, and he returns to the team for the four-hour season finale following a frustrating British GT campaign in his Ginetta G55 GT3 alongside Tom Sharp.

“I’ve been looking forward to doing this event for quite a while now as I’ve had a pretty busy season running the team, so now it’s nice for me to get back behind the wheel,” said Freke.

“The Nordschleife is an amazing circuit; a real challenge of man and machine and to hook a lap together takes quite a bit of effort. I always love coming here and this weekend is no different.

“It’s great to have Colin with us also. Colin and I raced here before in the 24 hour race finishing on the podium, so hopefully in this shorter four hour race we can return to the podium again!”
