Ford OMSE Aim for Title Glory in Argentina

The Ford OlsbergsMSE WorldRX Team are going all out to secure the first ever FIA World Rallycross Championship for Teams at the 2014 season finale in Argentina this weekend.

The team and its drivers, Andreas Bakkerud and Reinis Nitiss, have tasted success this season with podiums taken at various event whilst victories were taken by Bakkerud at Lydden Hill and Istanbul with Nitiss securing his first victory at Hell in Norway. Team Boss Andreas Eriksson is confident of victory. “It has been an incredible battle between teams all year and it is going to be an exciting weekend for us in World RX,” said Olsbergs MSE owner  Eriksson. “Olsbergs MSE is going to put it all on the line in Argentina to get a win.”

The team has fielded a third Ford Fiesta ST Supercar at selected events this year with an impressive roster of guest drivers from the motorsport world. 2013 British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan raced at Lydden Hill, taking a podium, Swedish Touring Car Ace Richard Goransson also took a podium finish in Italy whilst former World Rally driver Gigi Galli wowed the fans to finish ninth overall.

Sebastian Eriksson starred in the WorldRX of Sweden and now Kevin Eriksson joins the team in their third Ford Supercar as the prize for winning this years RX Lites Championship which has taken part at selected WorldRX events this year.

This weekend sees the Ford OMSE squad in the thick of a three way battle for the Teams Championship at the season finale which takes place at the new RX circuit of San Luis in Argentina. The team is four points behind the VW-Marklund Motorsport squad on 357 points with the Peugeot-Hansen team in contention on 323 points. Both Bakkerud and Nitiss are also involved in the close fight for second place in the Drivers Championship with Timmy Hansen and Topi Heikkinen trying to deny them that position.

The final round of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship, presented by Monster Energy takes place this weekend in San Luis, Argentina.
