2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship title winner Colin Turkington will be among the illustrious list of stars heading to the annual Autosport International Show in January.

The Northern Irishman made himself a double BTCC title winner earlier in October at Brands Hatch to round off a stellar season for the West Surrey Racing driver, eight victories enough for the BMW 125i M-Sport driver to add to his 2009 championship success in style.

The new BTCC champion will be among a smattering of fellow rivals gathering for the 25th anniversary edition of Autosport International at Birmingham’s NEC on 8-11 January (subject to alteration), alongside former BTCC champions Matt Neal, Andrew Jordan and Gordon Shedden.

“Winning the British Touring Car Championship for a second time was the result of a lot of hard work by the entire West Surrey Racing team; that it all came together was incredibly satisfying,” Turkington said.

“We received great support from passionate BTCC fans all year, but the reception to winning the title has been amazing. It will be great to see everyone and reflect at Autosport International in January, starting what will hopefully be another successful year.”

The dedicated BTCC display returns again containing the distractions of team reveals and a healthy selection of cars, plus driver interviews and autograph sessions.

“The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is getting stronger and stronger each season, and a key part of Autosport International. To have Colin at the show as the new champion is great news; we look forward to welcoming him and the passionate touring car fans in January,” said Ian France, Autosport International Show Director.

The BTCC display will be located in Hall six, near the returning F1 Racing grid. Tickets to Autosport International are available from £32 for adults, with children’s tickets priced from £21 and children under five years admitted for free. For tickets, visit www.autosportinternational.com.

Turkington himself recently visited the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent that he clinched his second BTCC title at once again, revealing Steven Garry’s new-look Fiat Punto which was given a makeover by Turkington’s eBay Motors squad as part of a competition from the overall 2014 BTCC Teams’ champion’s sponsors.

As one of two announced winners, Garry won a unique car transformation at the professional hands of eBay Motors Chief Mechanic, Steve Buckell, plus fellow members of the team to give his Punto the ‘Batmobile’ look as you can see in the exclusive video below…
