Karting Champion joins TRS Arden in MSA Formula

1 Mins read

TRS Arden have signed World and European Karting Champion Enaam Ahmed for their 2015 MSA Formula Challenge team.

The fourteen year old, who is managed by EDGE Sporting Management, moves up for his first season of single-seater racing in 2015, having won five major karting championships in 2015. He won the CIK World Championship, the CIK European Championship, the WSK Super Masters, the Champions Cup and the Winter Cup.

He also became the WSK Driver of the year, having become the youngest driver to ever win the World and European championship double, beating the record set by Lewis Hamilton.

“I’m very excited to be with TRS Arden, they’ve had good pedigree so I’m sure we’ll get on well,” said Ahmed. “It was a hard decision but it was too good to turn down.

“The first half of the year will be about learning. I think it’s going to be the hardest F4 championship in the world. It will be a good stepping stone.”

Team Boss Garry Horner is looking forward to working with Ahmed in 2015, and admits he was impressed by his performances in the karting world last season.

“We are very excited to have Enaam signed with our MSA Formula team,” said Horner. “He has certainly impressed us with his performance in several championships last season and we are certain he can carry this through taking the next step up to focus on single seater racing.”

Arden recently announced that Total Rail Solutions (TRS) would be their lead sponsor for the inaugural season of the MSA Formula, which is a series designed to give young drivers the opportunity to get into single seaters direct from karting.
