Champions Return to Britcar Championship

1 Mins read

2014 Britcar Endurance Championship winners David Mason and Calum Lockie have confirmed their entry for the 2015 MSA Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship. After claiming the title in a thrilling final race at Donington Park in November, the duo have retained FF Corse to run the now title winning Ferrari 458 Italia.

Once again, Lockie and Mason will race in Class 2, hoping for an easier season than last year where victory came on the very last lap of the year. The car will carry the #1 when it hits the track on March 28.

Lockie said, “It is fantastic and exciting to be back. To have won the championship against a much faster Class 1 car wasn’t something we hadn’t even dared to imagine at the start of the season. We will do our best and give our everything, but it will be a tall order to retain the title.”

Mason added, “I am looking forward tremendously to the new season, particularly as last year’s co-champion I have the coveted number “1” on the car.  It was such a close run thing to win the overall championship with 1 point over the Mosler that it really was a dramatic finish to a roller coaster season”.

The FF Corse entry will be joined by the recently confirmed Ian Anderson and Amanda Black who return with Redgate Lifetime Racing. The former Caterham champions will race a Ginetta G55 in the full season of Britcar’s new MSA backed championship.

The MSA Britcar Dunlop Endurance Championship gets underway at Silverstone International in March before the return of the Dunlop 24 Hours at Silverstone in April.
