German F3 champ Pommer moves into Euro F3 with Motopark

1 Mins read

The 2014 German Formula 3 Champion Markus Pommer has joined Team Motopark for the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season.

The German, who also was a race winner in Auto GP during last season with Super Nova International, continues his association with Motopark, who took him to the German F3 title last year and gave him a ride around the streets of Macau last November where he finished eleventh.

Pommer took fourteen wins in German F3 last year to win the championship at a canter from Malaysian Nabil Jeffri by 147 points. He joins Briton Sam MacLeod in the team as they make their debut in the series in 2015.

“After my most successful year in racing so far, I’m glad to move up the ladder together with my partners, Team Motopark,” commented Pommer. “We want to continue right where finished off last season.

“Following our first tests, I’m very confident we can mix it with the best straight away. I would like to extend my deep thanks to my long-serving partner livestrip.com who has made this step possible.”

Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil was happy to continue the partnership with Pommer into European Formula 3, and hoped the move would bring more success to the team.

“Doubling up in two championships has made him drive even stronger than what we had in mind from our first spell together,“ said Rumpfkeil.

“Following our F3 title and our strong display at Macau last November, we had both hoped an banked upon Pommer joining us for the European, too. We’re glad we can make our move together – and are looking forward to more success in the future.“
