Ginetta Champion Woodhead To Return To Racing In Lotus Cup UK

1 Mins read

2013 Ginetta Junior champion Harry Woodhead has signed up to compete in the Lotus Cup UK this season, returning to action after missing the majority of 2014 through injury.

Woodhead completed the first three meetings of the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup last season with Douglas Motorsport, impressing with two podium finishes, before an unfortunate knee injury forced him out for the rest of the campaign.

Now the 17 year old, who took ten race wins in a row en-route to his Junior crown in 2013, will race a Lotus Exige S2 for Rob Boston Racing in the open super sport class of the Lotus Cup UK, and is gunning for class and overall title honours.

“I’m delighted that I’m racing in the Lotus Cup championship in 2015 and can’t wait to get out on track next weekend for the season opener at Snetterton,” said Woodhead.

“The championship is very close with many fast cars and drivers out on track so there will certainly be a challenge that I’m ready for.

“Due to A Level commitments I have only managed one day of pre-season testing, so the race weekend at Snetterton will certainly be a baptism of fire.”

The 2015 Lotus Cup UK is scheduled to run over eight weekends across the UK, at Snetterton (twice), Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Rockingham, Donington Park and Silverstone, and also at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
