ART Grand Prix have confirmed that Marvin Kirchhofer will return for a second season with the french squad in GP3 Series alongside Mexican Alfonso Celis Junior.
Kirchhofer finished 3rd in GP3 in 2014 with one win, seven podiums, three pole positions and four fastest laps.
The German also won the ADAC Formel Masters in 2012 and German Formula Three in 2013 – with an impressive 13 wins, 13 pole positions; 17 fastest laps and 25 podiums from 26 races.
ART have decided to retain Kirchhofer on the basis that they believe he can help the team fight for both the teams’ title and the drivers’ championship, which ART won with Esteban Gutierrez and Valterri Bottas.
Kirchhofer is well aware of his targets for 2015 and the German is confident he can attain them: “I’m really happy that I will be racing with ART Grand Prix again this year!
“The targets are quite clear for this season and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m very proud to be a part of the team again and I’m quite confident that we can do something good this year, as we have already shown some good performances together last year.”
Team Manager Sebastien Phillipe is hoping Kirchhofer can use his experience from 2014 to make a step forward towards the title.
“ART Grand Prix is proud to continue the adventure with Marvin in GP3,” said Phillipe.
“He is a quick and complete driver who has thrilled the team with his talent and personality. In view of the results from last year, the goal will be to win the title in 2015 and regularly target pole position and victory.
“Marvin has all the capabilities to do this, and after a first probative season he now has the necessary experience.”
