Stadium Super Trucks ready for the streets of St. Petersburg

1 Mins read

The SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks Presented by TRAXXAS series heads back to home territory this weekend following a successful outing in Australia for the opening three races.

Sharing track time with the opening round of the Verizon IndyCar series at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Robby Gordon narrowly leads the championship by one point over Sheldon Creed with Keegan Kincaid and Matt Mingay tied for third place seven points behind.

While Mingay wont be taking part this weekend, winners from the opening rounds Gordon, Kincaid and EJ Viso will lead the field away this weekend, joined by Burt Jenner, Scotty Steele, Bill Hynes, Lalo Laguna and Charles Dorrance, plus one more yet to be announced driver.

Action gets under way on the streets of St. Petersburg with a 30 minute practice session tomorrow with the first race of the weekend taking place just before the Indycar qualifying on Saturday.

The second race of the weekend will feature in a prime-time spot just before the Indycar race gets underway and is due to be live-streamed on the official Stadium Super Trucks website.

Last year saw Gordon take the first win of the weekend in a torrential rain storm while P.J. Jones took to the top step for the second race as the Florida sunshine shone through.
