Antonio Giovinazzi: “A fantastic start to the season”

1 Mins read

After the opening two races of the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season, Italian Antonio Giovinazzi sits at the top of the standings after two podium finishes at Silverstone on Saturday.

The Jagonya Ayam with Carlin driver finished second behind race winner Felix Rosenqvist in race one, then followed that up with a third place in race two behind rookies George Russell and Charles Leclerc, and Giovinazzi was delighted with his start to the season.

“It’s been a fantastic start to the season for me to already have two podiums following today’s racing action,” insisted Giovinazzi.

“It was a pretty tight start and a bit tricky but we got through safely and could get on with racing. The pace was good and the team did a great job all day.

“I’m now looking forward to tomorrow morning and hoping to get on the podium again and aim for the win. I’m pleased for both myself and the Jagonya Ayam with Carlin team to be at the top of the championship in these early stages.”
