1 Mins read

Team France FFSA have announced that Pierre Gasly will be testing for the Toro Rosso team in a private test session due to be held at Barcelona in May.

The young Frenchman who is currently in GP2 with DAMS will follow in the footsteps of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz during a test session which will take place just after the Spanish Grand Prix (May 8-10).

“This is excellent news and I am very grateful to Red Bull and Toro Rosso for giving me that chance.” said Gasly.

“This will be a first for me and I will give the best to make the most of this new opportunity! The support of the Federation and coaching that I enjoy this year in Team France FFSA, under the captaincy of Jean Alesi, allow me to tackle this new phase with ambition and serenity,” added Gasly.

“The selection of one of our Team France FFSA drivers for a private test session in Formula 1 shows that once again our high-level policy is bearing fruit.” said Nicolas Deschaux, President of the French Motor Sports Federation.
