Sa Silva completes Zele Racing line-up

1 Mins read

Top Angolan driver Luis Sa Silva has completed the Auto GP Series line-up for Zele Racing, at least for the season opener at the Hungaroring next week.

Sa Silva returns to the team in which he debuted in the series in the finale of the 2014 season at Estoril in Portugal, where he finished on the podium in race two, and will partner Antonio Pizzonia and Andres Mendez in 2015.

The twenty-four-year-old Angolan had raced in the GP3 Series for Carlin in both 2013 and 2014, and had a best finish of seventh at Monza last year, and is hopeful that his one-race deal can be extended to a full season in Auto GP with the Austrian team.

“I am delighted Zele Racing gives me the chance to race in Budapest,” insisted Sa Silva. “We are still negotiating with our major sponsors to secure an all-season deal. But if I do well in Hungary, things should probably be easier.”

Team Principal Michael Zele was happy to see Sa Silva return to his outfit for the race at the Hungaroring, having been impressed with his performance in Estoril last season.

“We have been working with Luis for quite some time,” revealed Zele. “His performance in Estoril was outstanding, so we are keen on extending the partnership for Budapest.

“It would of course be great to have him on board for the entire season and we are keeping our fingers crossed that he can settle a deal with his sponsors.”
