Having signed to be a Development Driver for the Williams Martini Racing team during the off-season, reigning GP3 Series champion Alex Lynn got his first taste of the FW37 on Wednesday during day two of the in-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
The Briton, who has stepped up into the GP2 Series with the DAMS team and won his first series race last weekend at the Spanish track, completed 52 laps and turned in the fifth fastest time, and admitted he had been excited for this day to finally arrive.
“I didn’t really sleep that well last night as I was so excited about today,” revealed Lynn. “It has been an amazing day and great to get behind the wheel of the FW37.
“We managed to get through a really important schedule and I completed a number of runs in the car. The team were happy with how we got on and with my performance, so all-in-all it has been a really positive day.”
