The FIA European Formula 3 Championship has altered its calendar for 2015, with the round in Moscow dropped in favour of a race at the Algarve circuit in Portugal.
Citing high costs and logistics for the reasoning behind the decision, the round in Russia over the weekend of 28-30 August has now been dropped in favour of a Blancpain Sprint Series supporting weekend at the Autodrómo Internacional do Algarve the following weekend.
It will be the first time the series visits the Algarve track, but it will be preceded by an official mid-season test at the circuit on the Tuesday and Wednesday prior to the event (1-2 September).
The European Formula 3 Championship had visited Moscow Raceway for the first time in 2014, with Esteban Ocon dominating the weekend, taking three out of three victories on his way to the championship.
