Jackson Upbeat With Performance Despite Luckless Thruxton

1 Mins read

Ollie Jackson feels he’s on course to start moving towards the podium positions in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup after showing improved performance in the latest three rounds at Thruxton last weekend.

The Century Motorsport racer had a mixed start to his maiden Supercup campaign, with two top six results in the first six races, but a change of car has brought with it an upturn in pace for Jackson and increased confidence for the remainder of the year.

While a gear change problem in the Thruxton opener and then a fuel pump issue late in race two may have restricted him to eleventh and tenth place finishes in those encounters, a sixth place finish in the final race was more representative of his pace as Jackson got stuck into a great four car battle.

“Luck seemed to be against me this weekend, which continues Thruxton being a bit of a bogey circuit for me, but generally I’m really happy with how the meeting has gone, the change of car has made a massive difference for me,” said Jackson.

“I’m now right in the ballpark with the guys battling for the top six, I was able to go out there this weekend, enjoy some great racing and fight back after some issues to get a couple of top ten finishes. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season now.”
