The hard work done by Beitske Visser to qualify in second place on the grid for the opening race of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series weekend at Spa-Francorchamps has gone to waste after her times were deleted post-session for a technical infringement.
The twenty-year-old Dutch driver’s floor on her AVF machine was found to be non-conforming to the regulations, and as a result will start from the back of the field when the race gets underway.
Arden Motorsport driver Nicholas Latifi will therefore move up into the second place on the grid alongside pole sitter Matthieu Vaxiviere, while row two will now comprise of both Fortec Motorsport drivers, with Monaco race winner Jazeman Jaafar ahead of Motorland Aragon race one winner Oliver Rowland.
Tio Ellinas has also seen his grid position altered because of a penalty, with the Cypriot driver losing his best time due to a yellow flag infringement. The Strakka Racing driver, who would have started sixth, will instead start eighth behind Roberto Merhi.
