James Hillier to ride supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2R at Isle of Man TT

1 Mins read

James Hillier has been invited to ride the new supercharged Kawasaki Ninja H2R at this year’s Isle of Man TT.

Hillier already has a busy schedule at this year’s event, with the 30-year-old competing in all events baring two, and will now add the 326bp machine to his TT agenda on June 10.

The Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider was given the invite by Kawasaki Motors UK and TT Festival organisers to ride the powerful machine around the famous circuit as part of a Monster Energy parade lap.

Joining Hillier on the special parade lap will be current World Superbike title contenders, Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes, both of whom will be riding Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R machines.

Speaking about this opportunity, Hillier said: I’ve seen the road going Ninja H2 at Bournemouth Kawasaki where the Quattro Plant team is based but this is something else altogether.

“I can’t wait to hear the sound echo around the first part of the course and then let it rip up the mountain mile – it’s going to be a mega experience!”

The bike has a supercharged 998cc inline four-cylinder engine and is finished off in a mirror coated black finish, along with plenty of carbon fibre.

The H2R machine has been created using Kawasaki’s unique aerospace and gas turbine technology and is something that all fans at this year’s TT must take the time to go see.

This will be the machine’s first outing at a road racing event, but it has already made its track debut after MCE British Superbike Championship leader, James Ellison, took it for a ride around Brands Hatch earlier on in the season.
