Lucas Oil Team Geriatric Appear At Coventry MotoFest

1 Mins read

Lucas Oil Team Geriatric and its 2015 MSA British Rallycross Championship driver Tony Lynch showcased their MINI Cooper S at the recent Coventry MotoFest.

Lynch has been a regular competitor in this year’s MSA SuperNational class of BritishRX, going up against a very close and competitive field of teams and drivers in what is the biggest class of entries of this years British Rallycross season. He took victory in last years BTRDA Rallycross Championship and the Coventry MotoFest presented a chance to show off the team, car and sponsors to a new audience of fans and followers.

Lynch and the team also had the opportunity to show off the MSA SuperNational MINI to the crowds as they were asked to participate in several demonstrations runs alongside household names such as Rob Austin from the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in his NGTC Audi A4 “Sherman” and Ant Whorton-Eales in his Renault Clio used in the UK Renault Clio Cup which is part of the TOCA Support package.

“This year was the first time we have been involved with the Coventry Motofest and it was a real success for us as a team,” Tony said. “It provided a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase both the British Rallycross Championship and all of our sponsors in front of a bumper audience of motorsport fans, and also those who were just keen to see what the event was all about. We didn’t expect to actually take part in the ‘on-track’ activities so it was an unexpected surprise to get chance to show what the MINI can do the final day of the festival. Hopefully we’ll have chance to return next year when there is due to be a more competitive element to the event!”

The team hopes to return to next year’s Coventry MotoFest and is preparing for rounds four and five of the British Rallycross Championship which will take place at the end of June in a unique double header event at Mondello Park in Southern Ireland.
