Robert Schwartzman was the fastest driver in morning practice for ADAC Formula 4 around the Red Bull Ring. He managed a time of 1:32.714, 0.2 seconds quicker than his closest competitor.
David Beckmann will make his first ADAC F4 appearance this weekend after being ineligible to driver in Oschersleben, after some impressive performances in Italian Formula 4 he continued his form by impressing compared to his Mucke Motorsport team mates, he would eventually finish the session in seventh.
Joel Eriksson managed to take the lead early on and pushed his Motopark car in free air, but this wouldn’t last long. The second half of the session was dominated by Schwartzman, the Russian managed to set the fastest time before improving and extending his lead over Eriksson and Michael Walderr.
By the end of the session the top 14 were within a second, as the rest of the drivers proving the front runners should not relax as the others prove their worth. Some of the front runners did not compete as only 39 drivers were allowed on track.
Schwartzman ended the session as the fastest driver on a 1:32.714. He was 0.2 seconds ahead of Eriksson with Walderr in third ahead of Ralf Aron and his Prema Powersport team mate, Guan Yu Zhou. Zhou was also the top placed rookie and continues his good practice form from Oschesleben.
Meanwhile Mick Schumacher finished thirteenth, just behind home favourite Thomas Preining.
