Ypres Rally To Host Round Two of R-GT Cup

1 Mins read

The Kenotek Ypres Rally is set to host round two of the new FIA R-GT Cup as four crews are set to battle it out in four Porsche GT3s.

Francois Delecour, Romain Domas, Patrick Snijers and Marc Duez will do batttle for victory on the second round of the series as the cup moves to Belgium.

Delecour dominated the first round of the series on the Monte Carlo Rally back in January in his Porsche 997 GT3 Cup RGT winning the class by well over two minutes from Dumas.

In terms of the Ypres Rally Delecour last competed here in 1991 and will be looking to extend his advantage in the championship in 2015. Dumas, who previously won the Le Mans 24 Hours in a Porsche in 2010, hasn’t competed here but despite this will still be pushing for his first victory in the cup. Snijers has experience in the Belgian Rally Championship which could play to his advantage on the Ypres stages. Marc Duez won the Ypres Rally in a Porsche 911 in 1982.

The Kenotek Ypres Rally kicks off on June 25.
