Nissany revels in maiden FR3.5 podium

1 Mins read

Roy Nissany took his maiden Formula Renault 3.5 Series podium and his first top three finish since the ADAC Formel Masters championship back in 2012 with a strong drive in race two at the Red Bull Ring.

The Israeli driver had a good getaway at the start to move ahead of Nyck de Vries, with the Tech 1 Racing driver then having the pace to move away from the DAMS driver.

Nissany was naturally delighted to finish third in Austria, and feels that both himself and the team are making progress this season after moving up from the European Formula 3 Championship for this season.

“It’s great to be on the podium, it’s been a long time!” exclaimed Nissany on RenaultSport.com. “The weekend got off to a very good start and we have done a great, really great job working as a team to develop the car.

“After lacking seat time during the winter, I have adapted and we have progressed ever since. The first points at Budapest and now a podium, onwards and upwards!”
