Leonardo Pulcini was quickest overall in practice for the fifth round of the EuroFormula Open championship at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
The DAV Racing youngster set the best time of 1m28.190s in the opening session of the trio held on Friday, 0.025s faster than Japanese driver Yu Kanamaru of Emilio de Villota Motorsport.
Israeli driver Yarin Stern was third quickest for Team West-Tec F3, ahead of the five RP Motorsport entries, led by championship contender Vitor Baptista, with Andres Saravia, Antoni Ptak, Igor Walilko and Damiano Fioravanti just behind.
The second Team West-Tec F3 entry of Thai driver Tanart Sathienthirakul was ninth quickest, whilst current championship leader Konstantin Tereschenko completed the top ten for Campos Racing.
Only sixteen cars took to the track on Friday, with BVM Racing the noticeable absentees, with neither Alessio Rovera nor William Barbosa on the entry list this weekend. For Rovera in particular it is bad news, with the Italian driver currently fourth in the championship standings, having won the opening race of the season at Jerez.
