Dan Ticktum Disqualified from Whole Croft Weekend

1 Mins read

Having taken the decision to the Motor Sports Council‘s National Court, Dan Ticktum has lost his fight to keep his victory at round 13 of the year in Croft last month. Furthermore, he has been disqualified from all the rounds that weekend.

Ticktum had controversially hit and spun race leader, Lando Norris going into the final corner, the move allowed him to win the race and would allow him to catch Norris in the championship. However; the MSC Court decided on Tuesday to disqualify him from not just round 13, but also the whole weekends results, having viewed extensive video footage on the incident.

On top of this, Ticktum would also have to pay a £2000 fine. The results and the loss of money severely damages his championship hopes as he drops to fourth in the standings with a total of 149 points.

Ahead of him in the championship standings is leader, Ricky Collard, who won the final race of the weekend to stretch his lead, he has 219 points. Norris is on 194, and Matheus Leist on 162 points.

Ticktum’s disqualification, means that Sennan Feilding picks up his second win of the year having been promoted to the top step in round 13.

The MSA Formula season will continue at Snetterton on the 8th August.
