2013 Avon Tyres British GT Championship GT4 champion Ryan Ratcliffe is to make a reappearance in the championship at the next round in a week.
Ratcliffe, who will be partnering Rick Parfitt Jnr, the man he won the GT4 title alongside two years ago, will move up into Team LNT’s Ginetta G55 GT3 for Snetterton
He will be replacing Tom Oliphant in the #44 as Oliphant is on Ginetta GT4 Supercup duty at Knockhill on the BTCC package. Having taken the championship lead in the series last weekend, the Ginetta star has sacrificed one weekend of British GT to not miss any valuable points.
Ratcliffe though is race-ready for rough and tumble GT racing, this season he has been racing for Triple Eight in the Blancpain Endurance Series in their BMW Z4 alongside Lee Mowle and Joe Osborne.
He said: “I have a really good feeling about Snetterton, it’s one of my favourite UK tracks and I’ve always gone well around there. To be partnered with Rick again is great, we have a great relationship on and off the track and we work well together! The Ginetta has great potential and I’m sure it will be a good weekend!”
For Parfitt, he will be hoping this voyage to Norfolk will provide some calmness to his season after hitting a few rocky spells in the last few races.
He said on partnering with Ratcliffe: “It’s great that Tom is leading the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup and I fully support his decision to be at Knockhill. In his absence I’m happy that I will be reunited with my 2013 British GT4 championship-winning teammate Ryan.
“He is a proven talent and very fast, plus we have worked well as a team before so I’m hoping we can bring back a little of the magic we had at Snetterton in 2013 where we won both races!”
The Snetterton weekend on August 22/23 will see two two-hour races making up rounds seven and eight of the nine race championship. The Checkered Flag will have live coverage of both races.
