Spa Sprint Race: Trident Motorsport

1 Mins read

#26 – Artur Janosz – P7, #27 – Luca Ghiotto – P1, #28 – Beitske Visser – P15

Championship leader Ghiotto delivered a spectacular win today at Spa-Francorchamps in the GP3 Series sprint race at the Belgian venue. The Italian, who started from the fourth place, also increased his championship lead. His two Trident colleagues also had positive days. Polish racer Artur Janosz ended up in P7 and grabbed valuable points for the team while Beitske Visser recovered two spots to P15.

Luca Ghiotto:

The weekend ended up in picture-perfect fashion for Ghiotto, who showcased a clever and determined approach for a deserved win. Today’s victory has been his third in five race weekends and next up Luca will be lining-up at home as the man to beat. At the start, hesitation cost him one spot, but after a few laps he quickly gained the lead, sailing to take the Sprint Race win and also logged the fastest lap of the race in the process.

Artur Janosz:

Janosz delivered a strong performance too as he recovered from the 12th position at the start. He started his comeback straight away and gained several positions up to P7. With today’s set-up, the young Pole found a rhythm with his car which also seemed to provide a better fit for his driving style. In addition to that, Artur has also been impressive in staying clear of the many crashes which happened during the 13-lap distance. The balance of his weekend is clearly positive as he continued to improve his form race by race.

Beitske Visser:

The target of Dutch racer Beitske Visser for today was to start well and end the race with a good pace and no damage. Beitske accomplished the feat, at times showing she could be even quicker than the pack she had in front which was almost impossible to overtake but hampered her pace. Throughout the weekend, Visser showed she has great speed, skills and the ability to carry-on the work planned by the team.
