Hawkins Pulls Out of MSA Formula to focus on 2016

1 Mins read

Jess Hawkins has announced, via Twitter, that she will not be contesting the final two rounds of the 2015 MSA Formula season having initially raised enough funds from her fans.

Hawkins had initially missed the start of the season and was able to join the Falcon Motorsport team after a successful campaign she launched on the ‘Gofundme’ website. She promised to match the amount raised, which currently stands at just over £3,300.

During her five weekends, she achieved a best result of eleventh in the 22 car strong Snetterton field as Hawkins looked to prove herself in single seater racing. She will instead focus on the winter series and options for 2016.

“This was a tough decision, especially as working with Falcon was an amazing experience and with their full support and direction I learnt so much I can carry forward.” the 20 year old announced.

“I have made progress and loved every minute of racing, but now I need to focus all my energy on winter testing and racing alternatives for 2016, ensuring the budget gets spent in the place at the right time, which includes the donations generously made by you.”

With team mate Darius Karbaley also unlikely to feature in the coming rounds, Falcon Motorsport could be left without a driver for the end of the season.
