Championship leader Marvin Dienst continues his good run of form as he tops Friday practice ahead of the penultimate weekend of the season, as the ADAC Formula 4 series returns to Oschersleben.
The season started at the Motorsport Arena and will return as a support series to Deutsche Touring Masters as it fires up for round seven of the year.
The first three races at the start of the year saw Dienst collect two victories to become the series first ever winner, while race three was won famously by Mick Schumacher, who will return hoping for more of the same around the 2.292 mile circuit.
Having managed to beat his opponents in practice two, the HTP Junior Team driver had to accept second place in practice one as he was beaten by his team mate, Janneau Esmeijer. It had been Esmeijer who had achieve pole last time, with the circuit proving to be strongly suited for the HTP team.
David Beckmann had recorded the second quickest overall time behind Dienst as he looks to continue his domination in the rookie class. He had been off the pace in the first session but made good progress in the second as he looks to challenge Esmeijer and Tim Zimmermann in the main championship.
Behind Esmeijer overall was Joey Mawson in fourth overall. He’ll be hoping for another strong weekend as the Australian looks to challenge for the title in his van Amersfoort Racing car. While team mate Schumacher managed to achieve the fifth fastest time overall with a best lap of 1:27.498.
It was a poor second practice session for the third championship contender, as Joel Eriksson limped around to only achieve the twelfth fastest time, however; some pace could be hidden as the Swede managed to set the third fastest time in practice one, showing that the potential was there.
It was also a strong rookie showing for Benjamin Bailly, who, in his RS Competition car, had achieved the eighth best time in first practice.
