Jackson Pleased With Rockingham Top Four Finishes

1 Mins read

Ollie Jackson has described his Rockingham outing as a “really positive weekend” after taking a pair of top four finishes in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup.

The Century Motorsport ace converted sixth on the grid for race one into fourth courtesy of a pair of brilliant overtaking moves.

Jackson stormed around the outside of Bradley Smith at the Tarzan hairpin early on, before picking off Tom Wrigley through the final Book chicane in the closing stages.

The former BTCC racer would go on to replicate that fourth place finish in race two, holding off Smith throughout the race, to further cement his eighth place in the championship standings.

“It’s been a really positive weekend. I still need to improve on my qualifying but I’ve shown again that I can race and move forwards right onto the back of the front group,” said Jackson.

“While we had a few tyre wear issues which held me back a bit in race two, the car was fantastic and ultimately I couldn’t ask for much more from the weekend.”

Jackson now has six top four finishes to his name, including a single podium finish at Croft – with more top three results the target in the final two weekends at Silverstone and Brands Hatch GP.

“My two favourite tracks on the calendar are coming up, so I’m looking forward to the final five races,” he added.

“I think we can be quick at Silverstone and we definitely go there looking for some more strong results.”
