Last Minute Deal Gives Pittard Supercup Return

1 Mins read

David Pittard will return to Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup action at Silverstone this weekend after striking a last minute deal with Ginetta works outfit Team LNT.

Pittard finished second overall in the Supercup last season, taking twelve podium finishes including five race wins in his maiden campaign with SV Racing.

The 23 year old has been forced to sit on the sidelines throughout 2015 so far though, but will return this weekend at a circuit he dominantly won both races at last season.

“I’m very thankful to Team LNT for the opportunity to get back on the BTCC package, especially at the home of the British Racing Drivers Club,” said Pittard.

“I will approach this weekend with an open mind. I’ve driven a G55 only three times since I was here last year where we had an amazing weekend, there have been a number of car changes that I will need to get use to as well as the LNT team.

“I hope I’m able to hook it up for qualifying to give myself the best shot of mixing it amongst the championship regulars!”

The move was only agreed yesterday evening (Thursday 24th), and will see  Pittard replace Jose Gerard-Policarpio, who is now missing from the action.

Pittard’s Supercup return will see him renew rivalries with Carl Breeze, whom he pipped for 2014 vice-champion honours in the final race of the year, and compete against the likes of points leader Tom Oliphant and Will Burns once again.
