Fresh from winning the opening Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race of the day from Silverstone, Mat Jackson will aim to make it two out of two from pole position in the second encounter.
The Motorbase Ford driver started the opening race from the Northampton circuit from pole position and was never troubled, leading from lights-to-flag for a comfortable second win of the season.
Jackson’s race lap record-beating fastest tour of the circuit puts him on pole position for race two, ahead of Triple Eight Racing‘s Jack Goff and West Surrey Racing‘s Andy Priaulx, who both took to the pits early and dropped outside the top 20.
Aron Smith will start from fourth ahead of second place finisher Andrew Jordan, while championship leader Gordon Shedden will start sixth ahead of James Cole‘s Ford Focus ST.
Jason Plato meanwhile starts 11th after a puncture curtailed his first race, the Team BMR driver now 21 points down on Shedden in the standings.
