Top European Renault Clio Cup outfit Rangoni Corse will make their Renault UK Clio Cup debuts next weekend with a two car entry for the penultimate rounds of the season at Silverstone.
The Italian squad has won two of the last four Eurocup Clio titles, as well as numerous Clio Cup Italia crowns, which they currently lead with Simon Iacone.
The team have five drivers in the Clio Italia top eight in fact, including 2013 UK Clio Cup champion Josh Files, and one of those will be joining them for their Silverstone outing, Michele Puccetti.
Puccetti has eleven top six finishes in twelve races to his name this season, including three podium finishes, having finished fourth in the championship last season.
Ben Davis will also make his Clio Cup debut with the team having got his first taste of a fourth-generation Clio at Snetterton this week, having previously made two appearances in older Clio machinery in the Michelin Clio Cup Series.
The former British Superkart champion made his debut at Snetterton in 2014, taking seventh and fifth place finishes, before finishing fourth twice at Rockingham earlier this year.
While they haven’t run cars in the Clio Cup, Rangoni Corse have appeared in the paddock before, with some of the team’s engineers providing support for Alex Morgan during part of the 2014 campaign.
