Caroline Confirmed Champion Following Appeal Rejection

1 Mins read

Jamie Caroline has been confirmed the 2015 Kick Start Energy Ginetta Junior champion after the Motor Sports Association’s National Court of Appeal ruled in his favour.

Stuart Middleton had appealed a post-race penalty from the Brands Hatch GP season finale, which had dropped him from 4th to 20th in the Round 20 results, but the MSA court decided his appeal did not meet the requirements of MSA General Regulation C7.1.3, upholding the original penalty in the process.

A dramatic end to the season had seen Senna Proctor initially crowned the provisional champion, before a thirty second time penalty for a jump start infringement by Middleton demoted him below Caroline in the classified race results.

The position gained gave Caroline the additional point required to end the season equal on points with Proctor, with the former being crowned champion on countback of race wins, having secured ten victories to Proctor’s four.

The conclusion of the series comes in similar circumstances to the 2014 Formula Ford GB season, when Jayde Kruger was officially crowned champion after the MSA Court ruled in his favour post-season.
